Jerry McQueen Turner invested his heart and soul in Morningside Antiques as the manager and owner of the store until October of 2001. He was a very warm, intelligent, creative and kind human being. I was engaged to his son, Mark Allen McQueen, for 7 years, and through both Jerry's & Mark's love and generosity, I had the priviledge of visiting New Mexico over the course of the 7 years we were engaged. Jerry was such a good friend to those who knew him and I miss him very, very much, especially at Thanksgiving time when I had originally visited N.Mex for the first time Thanksgiving of 1994) and Christmas. Every year he would send me a stunningly beautiful special Christmas card expressing faith in Jesus. He especially liked to send me Thomas Kincaid cards because he paints using much "light" in his paintings. I think Jerry was always looking for the light and I pray that he has found it. Jerry died October 22, 2001, shortly after 9/11 terrorist attacks and he was very distressed and depressed over that, as well as other things in his life. I pray he is now with Jesus, as well as his son, Mark Allen McQueen, his son, who also passed away shortly after Jerry died. Mark died January 27, 2002. They will always be missed. Mark inherited much of Jerry's creativity and kindness. The void that is left by their parting away from this earth is, to me, bottomless. I just wanted to express respect and gratitude for Jerry's life and never-ending love for Mark's. May they have peace that passes understanding and be living in the heavenly home God promised to those who have accepted His Son, Jesus, as their Savior. Jolene Gregory

I worked with Jerry, Kathy, her mom & others at an earlier Mall, and as a next-door business neighbor. I couldn't be around Jerry for 30 seconds without him having me in fits of laughter. I had moved away, and hadn't heard of his passing. With love & warm memories, I'll remember him.
